L2 Award in Recognising Damp, Mould in Buildings

QUALIFICATION PROFILE

Qualification title: ProQual Level 2 Award in Recognising Damp, Mould and Condensation in Buildings 

Ofqual qualification number:  610/1444/8 

Qualification Level: 2 

Duration: 2 Days

Assessment:  Knowledge Test. Pass or fail.  Internally assessed and verified by centre staff External quality assurance by ProQual verifiers 

Qualification start date: 6/9/2022 

Qualification end date: Ongoing

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should have prior or current work experience and/or work experience

within the construction industry.


Candidates are also required to have sufficient literacy and numeracy skills relevant to the role of a Fire Door Inspector. This would include the ability to write short reports, make basic calculations for measurements and quantities and to communicate effectively, in a range of ways, with colleagues and line managers.

  • Clients premises (minimum 6 students) or at our

MAXIMUM DELEGATES ON COURSE

LEARNING CONTENT

This course is designed to introduce the essential knowledgerequired to identify building defects associated with damp and mould and to suggest possible remedies. By the end of this course attendees will: 

  • Understand what cause of damp mould and condensation in buildings
  • Be aware of the effects of damp, mould and condensation on the health and wellbeing of people
  • Be aware of the effects of damp, mould and condensation on the structure and aesthetic look of buildings
  • Be able to recognise the differences between condensation, water penetration and rising damp.
  • Understand the relationship between damp, mould and condensation
  • Be able to recognise the symptoms of, and suggest remedies for different types of damp, decay and infestation
  • Be able to communicate with tenants about damp, mould and condensation and offer a solution to the problem identified
